I was born in Milan on July 2 1950. I got my degree in mathematics in 1978, but I have always devoted myself to my greatest passion: the mountains and have since then made it my profession.
I have been a mountain guide since 1980 and a mountain guide instructor since 1983. I have been President of the Technical Commission of the "Italian Alpine Guide National College" from 1985 until 2000 and Vice President of the Technical Commission of the UIAGM/IFMGA (International Federation of Mountain Guides Association) from 1998 till 2001. Presently, I am a full time mountain guide. I organize and actualize the MK programs and I carry out the institutional tasks of instructing others who are training to become mountain guides and mountain guide instructors. "Adventure consultant and risk manager" are the words that best describe my style and my way of being a mountain guide.
Clients of mine say the fact that over the past 15 years I have been President of the National Technical Commission of the mountain guides, director of the mountain guide courses and also mountain guide instructor adds an extra professional appeal to the activities they partake of with me. Many find it a rewarding experience to be accompanied by me during an ascent or to being one of my students.
I certainly love the mountains and my job and I love transmitting this passion to those who go walking in the mountains with me.
I greatly enjoy skiing in powder and all high mountain activities that can be done in the Alps and all over the world. I also like climbing on long routes on sunny mountain faces near the sea or walking amidst the crags and the summer pastures.
FREERIDE: my passion and my speciality are Ski-safari: journeys on skis to find powder and the most spectacular descents from the Dolomites to Switzerland and France.
SKI MOUNTAINEERING: high routes and journeys wherever there are mountains and snow and the possibility of discovering beautiful places for great ski mountaineering adventures.
HIGH MOUNTAIN: in the Alps, I summited most of the 4.000ers. I have also done the classic great routes of the Mont Blanc, Monte Rosa, Monte Vallese, Oberland near Bern and the Bernina. CLIMBING: I've climbed the great classic routes of the Dolomites, the Central Alps, and the most beautiful goulottes of Mont Blanc.
EXPEDITION: altitude really fascinates and attracts me. I have organized many expeditions: Makalu, Manaslu, Cho Oyu, Sathopanth, Kedar Dome, Mount Kenia, Pik Kommunizma (1st Italian ascent), Alpamayo, Cerro Torre and the volcanoes of Ecuador. On October 2 2005, I summited Mount Cho Oyu 8201m.
