TRICKS FOR FREERIDER AND ALPINE SKI MOUNTAINEERS
- equipment for small repairs: electric wire or iron wire, screw driver-multiuse pincer, glue spray, tape, wax, small bands with velcro, small bands (for electric wires), antipot small sponge
- alpine ski mountaineering bindings: heel lifts, crampons, molle di richiamo, stopper, tape with velcro (3 meters for not lose your skis)
- safety equipment 1: helmet, rope, snow anchor, harness + daisy chain
- safety equipment 2: avalung, airbag
- for the blisters: vaseline and compeed
- how to carry the skis in the rucksack: classic method, modern method (tied together), fast method (leave the skis high)
- how to put on the skis: first skis facing the valley crossing the feet, tips facing the mountain, hold the ski in the hand (just with dynafit binding)
- how to regulate the length of the sticks: downhill, 90° angle forearm – arm, uphill, 10 cm longer
- how to prepare the seal skins: curved skins, cut skins
- how to use the seal skins: make the ski slide, don’t stamp the ground, don’t wedge the back of the ski in the snow (attention dietrofront), attention to not dip the skins, how to take the skins off fast, refold the skins using the plastic
- how to make the rucksack: everything inside (also the ice-axe), shovel and probe at hand
- skis maintenance: edges – small square and stone, sole – take the curls off, wax – stick + iron + brush; annual maintenance at Sport Specialist
- bindings maintenance: regulation – Diamir, cleaning and lubrication; annual check at Sport Specialist
- skins maintenance: skin cleaning (with solvent), retouches with glue specially in the tail (with glue spray); glue renewal each two years at Sport Specialist
